This is a series of poems based on my humanities essay about the painting The Neural volume of Übermensch Thought 3, by Louis Markoya. The piece has a very interesting concept, which led me to remix it for our last assignment of the year for my comp 1 class.

The original artwork is about Ubermensch which is basically a superman or superhuman, but not like the ones in movies. It relates to superman in a philosophical sense. It relates to a superior being physically and mentally. The painting I discussed in humanities essay tries to illustrate the mind of this superior being, therefore my poems focus on Ubermensch’s complex mind.
The first poem relates to how Ubermensch is the ideal human. It reveals how and why he is the perfect man, beyond all others, and way more complex than the average human.
The second poem is a bit more abstract as it relates to the symbolism in the original artwork where the artist uses colorful, swirling fractals engulfing a white face to represent Ubermensch’s busy and complex mind. It shows the true expanse and complexity if Ubermensch’s mental state. Therefore, it is a deeper and more abstract analysis of Ubermensch’s mind.
The audience for these poems could really be anyone, but the concept is mostly targeted towards teenagers/high school and above due to the complexity of the topic. The backgrounds are made digitally by me to further express the meaning of the poems and evoke emotion.
